Lirola

I recently stumbled upon this seller on Etsy, Lirola, who makes the most beautiful dresses and tops. If ever I had a "style" of dress clothes this is it.  Liorla is out of Israel and makes each item to fit your exact measurements...at no extra charge. Browse the shop by clicking here.

(I'm obsessed!)

Going To and Coming From...

I find myself feeling perpetually guilty for my lack of blogging, but I'm not sure you'd be all that excited about thread colors, fabric orders, and photoshoots. Because really, that's all that has been going on around here. Plus a few near (yet totally unnecessary) melt downs over an upcoming event I'll be participating in. Although I'll be keeping that a secret incase one of my "episodes" is actually enough to keep me from following through. We'll see. :)

One thing I've been having a lot of fun with lately is international shipping. Some of my experiences have included sending a clutch to Norway and receiving goods from Hong Kong and Thailand. It's strange (and cool) to think that someone from halfway around the globe personally addressed and stamped a package to me. I like to imagine the sender and the postal worker having a conversation about the package going all the way to the U.S. as the postage is being paid for with currency foreign to me, then placed on a plane, then making it's way west through several small U.S. post offices...shuffled around with thousands of other packages, and finally arriving at my doorstep in northeast Indiana. See what I mean?

Here are a few pictures I snapped of some recent packaging...maybe I should make a series out of this.  It could be kind of fun!

(Although I'm sure most of Norway's population speaks English, it was still fun to find the Norwegian translation for "Thank you very much".)

The Break is Over

I'm finally finding time to sit down at my computer after a few weeks of "break". If you can call it that! The past 2 1/2 weeks have included a trip to southern Indiana to visit grandparents, four consecutive Christmases with family, ringing in the New Year, and a two-day trip to Chicago with friends. My house is a disaster (to put it lightly) and I need to make three or four clutches before Thursday's photo shoot...but right now just sitting here at the computer with it all to my back is suiting me just fine. :)

I am really excited about one of the gifts I received this year for Christmas.  A month or two before Christmas I was reciting a list of gift ideas to James at his request, and one of those things was a pair of Gingher sewing scissors.  I have always wanted a pair, but incase you havn't been to a craft store lately, you should know that Gingher is to scissors as Coach is to handbags. Very expensive! (For scissors, anyway.) Although it was "up there" on my wish list this year, I really wasn't expecting it. After all, it would involve James actually finding a craft store, entering a craft store, asking for the scissor section, choosing one of at least 10 possiblities, and then *this is the big one* being O.K. with paying that kind of $$ for a pair of scissors. In his words, it would be officially "turning in his man card". So you can imagine how excited I was to open up a pair of Ginghers. And not even so much that it was the scissors, but the thought and effort he had to put into getting them. Is my man pretty cool, or what? :)

I'm looking forward to getting back into blogging and things now that the whirlwind of what we call the holiday season is over. Hopefully I will get around some pictures from Chicago and post them. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are having a nice start to your 2010!
