New Prices!

I know, I know...I'm putting you through a roller coaster ride with my pricing...but luckily for you it's gone nothing but down! (Which is the best part of an actual roller coaster ride anyway, right?)

As you'll notice in the little window into my Etsy shop on the left side of my blog I've reduced my prices. Drastically to say the least. Getting this whole business thing down pat is much harder than what you might think. So bear with me as I try new ideas and techniques.

I know I've promised new items and inventory, but supplies are taking MUCH longer to get here than anticipated (Christmas has a way of clogging up the postal system) and my wonderful photographer is in the process of moving (which anyone who has ever gone through that would understand). But thanks for hanging in there...hopefully more than just the New Year will be ringing in around here in January.

Some projects in the pipeline: black and brown toned clutches, credit card/cash pouches, the smaller Essential handbag, and the introduction of custom orders.

Do you have design/fabric ideas? I'd love to hear them! Send me an email at lynndavidhc@gmail.com.

Chocolate Cookie Bark

This recipe was so easy I was almost skeptical about it's outcome. But seriously, it's amazing. You need the recipe. No really, you do.

2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 package (6 squares) Baker's white chocolate, melted
10 Oreo cookies, crumbled, divided
1 package (8 squares) Baker's semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Add peanut butter to white chocolate; stir until well blended. Stir 1/2 the cookies into each bowl of chocolate. Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate mixtures onto waxed paper-covered baking sheet, alternating colors of chocolates. Swirl with knife. Refridgerate1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces.

Want to see it done? Go to Kraft.com to watch the how-to video.

Your mailman just called...he says he wants some for Christmas...hold on...okay, that was your neighbors, and they say they want some too. *wink*

LD In The Press

About two months ago I met with Scot Goskowicz from the Fort Wayne Small Business Development Center through Bluffton's Chamber of Commerce. He's a business counselor, and believe me I needed all the counseling in that area as I could get. After our initial meeting he asked if I'd be interested in a complimentary press release that the Chamber would type up and send to area publications. Not being able to turn down free advertising (that's hard to come by!) I readily agreed. After spending some time on the phone in a couple of interviews the press release was sent. What came next has really just blown me away. Full articles have been published in the Fort Wayne Business Weekly and The Bluffton News Banner, and I've been mentioned in The Journal Gazette and The News Sentinal. Unfortunately, we don't subscribe to any of those papers. But it's been fun to go online and to hear about them from friends and family. I'm really glad I took adavantage of that press release and will forever be recommending the Small Business Development Center to any new small business owner. If you think you would benefit by speaking Scot, contact the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce at 260-824-0510 to set up an appointment.

If you all are anything like me, Christmas around your house is in full swing. Luckily, I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping. Of course, the things I have left on  my list are for all the $5-$10 grabs and white elephants I'm participating in. Why are those always the hardest to buy for? : )  If you're not done with your Christmas shopping yet stop back here early next week for some home-made gift ideas. Now I'm off to my date with a cup of hot tea and my sewing machine!

It's Here!

The newest collection of Heather Bailey fabrics is finally here! The Nicey Jane collection is nothing short of amazing. With it's big bold colors and patterns it's got Heather Bailey written all over it.

In other fabric design news, Amy Butler has a new line out called Love. Here's what Amy says about her newest collection:

"A marriage by design coming from a love affair of rich, soulful, organic florals and architectural prints passionately inspired by my recent trips to Indonesia and England. Rich tropical colors with ethnic imprints, and elegance found in over the top florals like full roses and exploding peony blossoms join together in an optimistic celebration of print and color."

I'm working on a bag right now that incorporates a beautiful blue and green print from Amy Butler. I know you'll love it!

Are there any prints from either designer you'd like to see incorporated into either line of handbags? If so, feel free to contact me. I'd love to know what you like! Even if you just want to see more of a certain color scheme, I'm open for suggestions!

And as always, don't forget to check out my Etsy shop for your Christmas gift-giving needs. I'm hitting the machine hard this week, so stay tuned for an update in inventory soon.
